Board Members
The Counties Manukau Homecare Trust Board is an independent board whose members are appointed as representatives of the community. Their skills and expertise are drawn on to support the professional administration of the Board’s responsibilities.
RAE HEATLEY
Chairperson
I joined Counties Manukau Home Care Trust in 2008.
CMHC trust is very special to me as I was around at the beginning back in the 90s. Because we are not for profit, local and small we can adjust to most circumstances. We have a group of wonderfully inspiring people who work for the Trust.
JAN SOMERVILLE
Health and Safety
I’m a nominated trustee on the Trust Board and responsible for liaison between staff and the Board on Health and Safety matters.
My interest in our work is through my experience growing up with a paraplegic sister who was nursed at home by my family and myself. This emphasised the importance of continuing care in the home and the benefits that such care provides to members of our community.
The credit worthy factor of our organisation operating a not-for-profit philosophy has been a strong influence in my interest.
JANE BERNEY
Marketing and Communications
MCS (Hons)
I’ve lived in Franklin since 2004 and over the years heard glowing stories of care workers helping friend’s frail parents to stay living at home. They were CMHT care workers. I feel privileged to be able to help support this essential, practical community service.
CRAIG DUTHIE
Treasurer
B.Com, CA
I accepted this role in 2013 to provide financial knowledge and expertise to the Trust including assistance with DHB funding plus overseeing preparation and audit of financial statements.
The best part of the role is being actively involved in
facilitating homecare services to those in the community that require it, but
also very proud to provide employment and training to our many care workers.
DESIREE READY
Trustee
TERRY HERBERT
Trust member
I joined the board in July 2024.
Originally from Mangatangi, I've lived in Hunua for over 3 years. And loving it.
I studied
Child Psychology and writing before settling on advertising and marketing. I
was privileged to do many pro bono campaigns for charities including Child
Cancer Foundation, Plunket NZ, SafeKids Aotearoa, Women's Refuge and Star
Ship.
As a board member of CMHT I see my role as one of
"cognisant governance", but with a deep empathy and respect for
clients and our wonderful support workers.
I love that I can be in a role that can assist those
most in need of in-home care.
